Every client might be interested how a prototype company work. To be honest,we are always willing to share the work how the prototypes were made and what are the necessary steps. Here’s a clear and structured English overview of the daily workflow at PuKong Prototype Company, covering all key processes from quotation to shipping:

1. Quotation & Order Confirmation

  • Receive customer RFQs (Requests for Quotation) with design files (2D/3D drawings, STEP/IGES).

  • Evaluate materials, tolerances, surface finishes, and production feasibility.

  • Provide a detailed quotation (cost, lead time, process options).

  • Confirm the purchase order (PO) and schedule production.

2. Programming & Setup

  • CAD/CAM engineers prepare machining programs (using Mastercam, SolidWorks, or PowerMill).

  • Optimize toolpaths, select cutting tools, and simulate machining to avoid errors.

  • Set up CNC machines (3/4/5-axis mills, lathes) with proper fixtures and tools.

3. CNC Machining

  • Machine raw materials (aluminum, steel, plastics, etc.) into precision parts.

  • Conduct in-process inspections (e.g., calipers, micrometers) to ensure accuracy.

  • Adjust parameters if deviations occur.

4. Deburring

  • Remove sharp edges and burrs manually or via tumbling/vibratory finishing.

  • Ensure parts meet safety and cosmetic requirements.

5. Grinding/Polishing

  • Hand sanding or machine polishing to achieve specified surface finishes (e.g., Ra 0.8, mirror polish).

  • Use abrasive tools, sandpaper, or buffing wheels.

6. Surface Treatment

  • Painting (Spray Paint):

    • Clean parts (degreasing, sandblasting).

    • Apply primer, base coat, and clear coat; cure in ovens.

  • Powder Coating:

    • Electrostatic powder application, then baking for a durable finish.

  • Anodizing (Oxidation):

  •  Electrochemical process for aluminum (Type II/III, color options).

  • Enhances corrosion resistance and aesthetics.

  • Plating:
    • Electroplating (nickel, chrome, zinc)
    • Electroless plating options

7. Quality Inspection & Reporting

  • Dimensional Checks: Use CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine), calipers, or gauges.

  • Surface Quality: Visual inspection under light, roughness testers.

  • Functional Tests: Assembly verification (if required).

  • Generate inspection reports (PDF/Excel) with photos/data for clients.

8. Packaging & Shipping

  • Anti-rust/cushioning packaging (e.g., bubble wrap, foam, vacuum sealing).

  • Label parts with PO/part numbers for traceability.

  • Arrange logistics (DHL, FedEx, or sea/air freight) and share tracking details.
